Job Title: EDM Operator
Department: EDM Department
Reports To: General Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Date:
Basic Function
Responsible for operating the Electrical Discharge Machining Department.
Responsibilities
1
Reads and Interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set-up procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
2
Designs production tools and dies.
3
Verifies fixture set-up meets acceptable quality standards.
4
Installs, aligns, and secures tooling attachments and parts on machine.
5
Enters commands or manually adjusts machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
6
Puts layout of tool parts in computer program.
7
Performs mathematical functions to ensure tool part configuration.
8
Maintains and operates the EDM Machine.
9
Forms various components of tool using EDM.
10
Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
11
Performs other related duties as assigned.
